Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson transformed themselves into Henry VIII’s second wife, Anne Boleyn, and her sister in The Other Boleyn Girl — helped by costumes that, Johansson said, were ”characters in themselves.”

”You can’t even move your arms, and everything is very statuesque and you have this giant skirt around you, and it’s interesting how that changes the way you interact,” Johansson said.

The movie, based on Philippa Gregory’s book of the same name and directed by Justin Chadwick, debuted Friday at the Berlin film festival.

Portman stars as the ambitious Anne Boleyn, who became Henry’s second wife and eventually was executed. Johansson plays her little-known older sister, Mary, who was Henry VIII’s mistress before her sister married him. The king is played by Eric Bana.

Can’t buy him love

The divorce hearing between Paul McCartney and Heather Mills looks to be stretching into a second week, after a judge allotted extra time for the couple’s court case.

Mills and McCartney separated in 2006 after four years of marriage.

The hearing was called to decide Mills’ share of the former Beatle’s fortune, which may be as much as $1.6 billion. Reports suggest McCartney has offered his wife about $50 million and that she is seeking at least double that.

‘I’ve been ripped off, dude!’
