Miley Cyrus gets Oscar invitation

Academy Awards telecast producer Gil Cates and Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences President Sid Ganis have announced the presenters and performers for the Feb. 24 Oscars.

The presenters scheduled to date are Alan Arkin, Jennifer Hudson, Helen Mirren, Forest Whitaker, Amy Adams, Jessica Alba, Cate Blanchett, Josh Brolin, Steve Carell, George Clooney, Penelope Cruz, Miley Cyrus, Patrick Dempsey, Cameron Diaz, Colin Farrell, Harrison Ford, Jennifer Garner, Tom Hanks, Anne Hathaway, Katherine Heigl, Jonah Hill, Dwayne Johnson, Nicole Kidman, James McAvoy, Queen Latifah, Seth Rogen, Martin Scorsese, Hilary Swank, John Travolta, Denzel Washington and Renee Zellweger.

Cates and Ganis also announced the performers of the nominated songs. Amy Adams will sing Happy Working Song from Enchanted. Also from Enchanted will be That’s How You Know, sung by Kristin Chenoweth and Marlon Saunders, and So Close, to be performed by Jon McLaughlin.

Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova will perform their nominated song, Falling Slowly, from Once, and Jamia Simone Nash will perform Raise It Up, from August Rush, with the IMPACT Repertory Theatre of Harlem. (more…)

Miley Cyrus and her father Billy Ray admit they did the wrong thing.

“We got caught up in the moment of filming, and we made a mistake and forgot to buckle our seat belts,” Billy Ray Cyrus told People magazine about a moment in the hit movie “Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour,” which generated a small bit of controversy earlier this week.

Due to the amazing success (of course) of the Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour movie, Chuck Viane, Disney’s president for distribution said “the run of the concert film, originally scheduled for one week, will be extended market by market”. This is amazing news! We are thrilled and couldn’t be more excited to see our favorite star on the big screen for another week in select locations! How was the show? Did you see it yet?

Moises Arias is an American actor. He was born on April 18, 1994 in New York City to Colombian parents. His career has included guest appearances on shows such as Sister Sister, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, One Missed Call and a recurring appearance as Rico on Hannah Montana, where he became a series regular in the show’s second season as a shop owner on the beach. Jason Daniel Earles (born in San Diego, California) is an American actor. His birthday is April 26. His birth year has been the subject of conflicting reports. Earles was 29 years old in January 2007, per USA Today. Earles’ resume gives a birth date of April 26, 1985.  A story in the Houston Chronicle in July 2007 stated that he was 19 years old.

Before moving to southern California, Earles lived in Billings, Montana, where he graduated from Rocky Mountain College in 2000. He has contributed cast memorabilia to the college’s fund raisers.

Emily Jordan Osment (born March 10, 1992 in Los Angeles, California) is an American teen actress, singer and songwriter. Following in her older brother’s footsteps she got a big break in the early 2000s when she co-starred as Gerti Giggles in the Spy Kids trilogy, and her performance in the second and third film earned her several nominations and awards. Since then she became famous for playing Lilly Truscott in the Emmy Award-nominated Disney Channel sitcom Hannah Montana.

In her other work, she starred as Cassie in R. L. Stine’s: The Haunting Hour Volume One: Don’t Think About It. As of December 2007, she is working on a movie for the series Hannah Montana, titled Hannah Montana: The Movie which is due to be released on April 10, 2009. On music, she has recorded teen pop hits like “I Don’t Think About It” and, along with her Hannah Montana co-star Mitchel Musso, “If I Didn’t Have You” and most recently Once Upon a Dream. She is currently recording her debut album, which will have several songs written by her.
